There is something in the air, which affects men on the east coast, in particular Kelantan and Terengganu. They want Malay women to be baby-making-machines. The Terengganu MB encourages mothers to have 12 babies each.
It is easy for the conservative males on the east coast, to talk about giving birth 12 times. Some of them can’t even bear the pain of another woman being more successful than them.
I bet you, if any of these men were to go through child-birth, they would probably pass a law to ensure that all males, should be sterilised, at birth, so that no male will have to go through the pain.
Some men don’t suffer from a cold. They have man-flu.
Some men don’t just fall ill. They are at death’s door.
What if the roles were reversed?
If the roles were reversed and the man were to carry a baby for nine months, he would be non-stop complaining about being bloated or having to wee constantly. He would be intolerable with his cravings. Most women I know, take it in their stride, but the men?
The more compassionate men, would have a rethink about women having 12 babies, or women staying at home. The selfish ones secretly say to themselves, “Better her, than me.”
Cave men mentality
In a deliberate snub, PAS issued a statement, on International Women’s Day, to say that the increasing divorce rates, were destroying the family institution. PAS decided that its women should be stay-at-home mums. The message was delivered by the Ulama information chief, Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali At-Takiri.
To be blunt, women are to make babies and take care of the house.
Here is a party which sounds like it has stepped out of the middle ages….oops no, more like the stone age.
Typical cave man scene: Cave woman stays in the cave, cooks supper, attaches the baby to her tits, and cleans up the cave. Cave man goes hunting, to bring back the bacon…oops…haram…let’s swop this to bison.
Why is PAS dragging us, to become another Taliban-like state? Some of them want public floggings like in Acheh. Are some of them into sado-masochism? Voyeurism, with their moral police? One shudders to think what the Obedient Wives Club (OWC) get up to.
If PAS continues along this path, they will soon be history.
Contagious thinking
In the neighbouring state of Terengganu, the same warped women-for-making-babies thinking is also predominant.
Last September, Terengganu Mentri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman ordered the state government to reward larger families. He wants Terengganu to achieve a developed state status. He was concerned about the small population of 1.1 million.
He said, “…we are encouraging the people in the state to increase the number of their family members… we want a mother to deliver more than 12 children.â€
Despite the progress which oil has brought to beautiful Terengganu, the state has taken a step back in time, with its leaders and their stunted thinking.
Making a mockery of giving Malay women an education
Ahmad Razif, like the Ulama of PAS, makes a mockery of giving girls an education, if their major contribution to the economy, is to lie on their backs and produce babies, throughout their reproductive years.
He mentioned a second honeymoon programme.
This must be to rekindle the romance in some couples, to make them reproduce for the sake of the state.
Is Ahmad Razif naïve? Couples cannot have stable relationships, or rebuild one, just by having a free second honeymoon.
Remember, quality over quantity. This regressive step will backfire.
