Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has agreed to review and study Jakim and its destructive agenda that has moved so far away from the original objective.
We need to stand united AGAINST Islamisation that has nothing to do with Islam.

A friend says: Some friends and I are currently preparing a document to challenge the existence of JAKIM and related organisations/organs. I would like to invite your honest input on reasons to disband JAKIM
In the move to disband JAKIM, please speak up, provide the points and the relevant links. We need to list out every single occasions that JAKIM has betrayed the message of the Quran and our Constitution. All we require you to do is to fill in the survey at this link: http://bit.ly/dbjakim
A nation ravaged by politics and religion
Politics and religion have ravaged our country, tearing it to bits, making enemies of loved ones, making fake friends of enemies.
The education system is non-functioning, no longer able to allow our children to explore their true capacities and interests, on a secular platform. The education platforms have been infiltrated with religious teachers that teach intolerance and supremacy of one race and one religion.
Thieves break into homes, and their victims are jailed. Children are raped by fathers, and the world seems to give these fathers reason. A young girl is molested on a train by an old man clad in Muslim attire, and the young girl is blamed. And you offer indifference?
We should be where South Korea is today. We should be where Singapore is today. We do not want to be where Brunei is today. We must never be where Pakistan is today! Yet, here we are still living a lie fed by a number of politico-religious destructive elements, ketuanan Melayu-Islam being one of them.
The Ketuanan Melayu-Islam bred racism
Not only has ketuanan Melayu-Islam bred racism, social disharmony and unconstitutional enforcements, but it has also played a key role in making the Malay Muslims believe that they are handicapped and need handouts.
It has caused a plague of chronic ignorance, contributing to more than a fourth of the population being mentally ill. It has paralysed this faction of the Malaysian society and is now bringing waves of radicalisation, extremism and incubated terrorism into the everyday lives of ALL Malaysians, regardless of race, faith or creed.
We need to rectify this situation. We need to rebuild Malaysia. Most critically, we need to heal the peoples of Malaysia.
Yes, it is easier said than done. But in order to get done, there are things that need to be said!
Prime Minister Tun Mahathir has agreed to review and study Jakim and its destructive agenda that has moved so far away from the original objective.
We need to stand united AGAINST Islamisation that has nothing to do with Islam. We need to stop oppression of minority muslims. We need to stop the persecution of those who question. We need to stop the agenda to separate Malaysia into factions. We need to stop enforcement of the ASWJ Sunni subsect that clearly is unconstitutional and conflicts with the Quran.
The following questions frame our position of enquiry with regards to JAKIM:
Are their policies and enforcement mechanisms in line with the Divine Message of the Quran?
Are they in line with universal humanitarian brotherhood? How constitutional or unconstitutional are these?
What is its impact on the propagation of extremism, radicalisation and incubated terrorism?
How does this affect our country Malaysia, directly or indirectly, in terms of social welfare, education, economy (halal products and services for example), internal security and safety, and finally in terms of human dignity?
Please speak up, provide the points and the relevant links. We need to list out every single occasion that JAKIM has betrayed the message of the Quran and our Constitution. (The survey is here.)
Jakim goes against the Constitution of Malaysis. It heavily loads the imbalance of Malaysia’s multi-racial and multi-religion demographic composition – in favour of ONE major ethnic group against the minority ethnic groups, in the country. Moreover, JAKIM, is an organisation that – by its actions – seeks to promote the Islamisation and threatens to over-rule and supress the secular rule-of-law enshrined in the country’s Constitution. Neither does Malaysia need or want a dual legal system.
Enough is enough.
No more question doubt on discuss whether it impacts to non Muslim or not, the answer is very clear.
My point of views, disbanded Jakim for the sake of rakyat and country. Save Malaysia.
Rule Of Laws
No Religious
No Jakim
Thank you for your usual thoughtful, well put article. I would like to add that 1 billion (or close to that) budget can get us better paid teachers and schools. It is such a waste of money to fork out to have our lives monitored and controlled by a gang, yes gang, of people who exercise these at the behest of a few with agenda that is in conflict with the new rakyat.
Selamat Hari Raya kak Mariam. Thank you for your initiative to help build a better Malaysia for our future generations. My observation is that religious bodies like JAKIM have developed inferiority complex amongst Muslims so much so that non Muslims are not allowed to comment on their religion.
Kak Miriam, taking this opportunity to wish you and your family a Selamat Hari Ray Aldifitri. Thank you for the brave effort without which we will not have a wonderful and brand new Malaysia. It is going to be the best country in the world. Terima Kasih.
Non muslims too need to speak up because what Jakim imposes on Malay Muslims also impact on non Malays, sooner or later. Just see what is happening in Acheh and Pakistan. It is appropriate that Islam be practised as it should be, and enable practising muslims to reach the greatest heights humanly possible. This will be for the good of everyone. As a non muslim, I do not envy Malays achieving great things. There is no room of envy from everyone.
