The senator who wants Syariah compliant uniforms sees this…but what we see is…

On 11 December, Senator Hanafi Mamat urged the government to introduce shariah-compliant uniforms for flight stewardesses serving the country’s airline companies. He wanted cabin crew to conform to the country’s image as a Muslim country.

He said, “…when our flight stewardesses dress sexily and disrespectfully, this will give tourists who use the services of our national carriers the wrong impression.

Many of us wonder which local airline has stewardesses who dress disrespectfully. Have you come across them?

When we look at MAS stewardesses…this is what we see…

When we look at Malindo Air stewardesses, this is what we see.

The cabin crew of both airlines, look so pretty in the kebaya…

Unfortunately, with GE-14 due very soon, many Senators, politicians and ulamas, are struck with “sanctimoniusitis” which gives them X-ray vision.

So when they look at stewardesses, they see….

Sexism in Malaysia

Why do many of the politicians, ulamas and senators demand a change in the stewardesses’ uniforms?

How come they never target the stewards?

What if the stewards have uniforms like this?

Or this?

So why target stewardesses only?

Any answers?

  • Joe Fernandez says:

The media should not mindlessly give space to goateffers.

The media seems oblivious to the fact that being sexy is not against the law.

Also, there’s no law on syariah compliance.

Notwithstanding Article 3 on Islam as the religion of Malaya, the Constitution is based on rule of law.

The media is being party to an illegality by harping on syariah compliance.
