Valentine’s Day is all about sex, vice activities and state sanctioned voyeurism

If you are a Muslim, be careful, today! Don’t be seen with a rose in your hand, a box of chocolates or having a candle lit dinner with your loved one.

The authorities are afraid that Muslim teenagers who are given a card, or roses or chocolates or get taken out for a treat in a restaurant, will definitely end up having sex.

A particularly bad year for Valentine’s Day celebrations was in 2011.

The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) organised a special campaign dubbed the “Mind the Valentine’s Day Trap””.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Jamil Khir Baharom, warned Muslims, especially teenagers, not to celebrate Valentine’s Day because it contravened Islamic teachings. He urged television stations to offer suitable programmes that could educate the public about Valentine’s Day.

Is Jamil aware that Valentine’s day is celebrated on a large scale in Pakistan and the middle-eastern countries?

Sex sex sex

The Jakim director-general, Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz Islam, said that Islam was not opposed to the celebration of love, but he objected to the vice activities that usually took place during Valentine’s Day.

He said, “That is why a fatwa (edict) was issued to prevent and advise Muslims not to celebrate Valentine’s Day because in reality, as well as historically, the celebration of Valentine’s Day is synonymous with vice activities.”

Now we get to the root of the problem. For the holier-than-thou types in Jakim, it all boils down to SEX.

Voyeurs galore

The PAS youth chief, Nasrudin Hasan Tantawi,  said, ” “We have identified spots in these states which are used by lovers and we are deploying local religious department officials as well as party members to stop such sinful acts like casual sex, which violates Islam”.

He urged the authorities in Kedah, Penang, Kelantan and Selangor, to conduct “immorality checks”.

Have they nothing better to do?

The men in PAS and JAKIM should have a cold shower instead of disturbing two people in love.
