Why do we bother…

…when politicians unscrupulously grab power and destroy the echelons of society?

… When billions of ringgit are spent recklessly and squandered away by the authorities?

…When justice is blatantly disregarded and voters rights are sidelined?

…When greed rears its ugly head andthe needs of the underprivileged are cast aside?

…When corruption is glorified and the undeserving are unjustly rewarded?

…When the infamous have neither dignity nor principles but to parade their desires and indulgences with pride?

…When personal gain and name are the order of the day so that anyone in the way is trampled upon and toppled?

…When the public servant amasses vast fortunes while the man in the street is asked to tighten his belt?

Why do we even bother?

We bother because we have been brought up with a sense of principles

We have grown up with the idea that everyone who works hard should be rewarded, regardless of race or creed.

We bother because we want leaders who are informed, dedicated and honest and who work selflessly.

We bother because we want to be proud to be Malaysian, to hold our heads high in the eyes of the world.

We want to progress and have a better quality of life for ourselves and the future generations.

We bother because no matter how badly we have been treated in the past, Malaysia is still our home, Negara-ku, where friends and family live together, albeit dissatisfied and disgruntled.

Is that too much to ask?

By a patriotic Malaysian.

    We hope of change
We thought we had it done
We didn’t count on the traitors
They stole our mandate to rule

Judas Iscariot and his 11 pieces of gold
In the darkness they sneaked through the back door
They laughed all the way to claim their power
Letting in the worst virus hitting us Covid 19

    Nothing is going to change
The kleptocracy has returned to the stage
Judas Iscariot ganged up and forgot his integrity
With his enemies once before in his life

The 11 pieces of gold shining in the darkness
It isn’t bringing out the best for the nation
It is for the personal gratification of greed and power
Nothing is going to change in the country

But Covid 19 has its own way to spoil it
Now the coup leaders trying hard to run
Afraid they will get hit and pay for their sins
They pray everyday they don’t get the virus

    We hope for change
We thought we could do it
But the traitors spoilt it all
Our dream will not die as yet
