Ramakrishnan said that by failing to represent the true values of Islam, Hadi has brought shame to Islam with his unethical conduct and has totally discredited himself.

Sometimes, we mistakenly believe that religious personages are pious, honest, fair and just. It is unfortunate that at times these people disappoint you rather badly.
Sadly, Tan Sri Hadi Awang is one such person. Sometimes, certain people tell white pen1puan and we tend to be tolerant and forgiving. But when the pen1puan are blatant, it is difficult to swallow.
On Feb. 18, 2022, at Kota Tinggi, Johor, Hadi made certain claims that were obviously and grossly untrue. He had blatantly men1pued to hoodwink the voters of Johor, hoping to score points to win votes.
Shockingly, he claimed, “DAP created Amanah. I know that they recruited PAS people to establish Amanah.
“Now it’s the same with Muda. It is to bait Malay youths. Don’t take the bait.”
Malaysiakini also reported Hadi continuing to paint DAP as anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-monarchy.
DAP did not create Amanah or Muda. That is an indisputable fact. These parties came into being because of certain circumstances and disillusionment of some politicians with their former party.
PAS fractured because of the clash between the moderates and the conservatives within PAS. The ultra conservatives in a way drove out the moderates with their extremism.
Muda was created by Muar MP, Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, after he was sacked from Bersatu. He mooted the idea of Muda and tried to register it as a political party to cater for the youth in Malaysia. The Home Minister and the Registrar refused to register Muda. The frustrated Muda went to court to compel the Home Minister to register Muda. It was on the orders of the court that Muda was registered.
In the cases of both Amanah and Muda, the DAP had no role or hand in the creation of these parties. The breakaway group from PAS registered Amanah and the sacked Syed Saddiq went on to form Muda and fought to get it registered.
Apart from these pelbagai pen1puan, Hadi had blatantly stated that DAP was anti-Malay, anti-Islam and anti-monarchy. These are serious and dangerous allegations against DAP and Hadi had been let off easily in spite of these outrageous pen1puan.
That is why it is strange that DAP did not sue Hadi and nail the lie. They were morally bound to set the record straight and establish the truth. In this instance, the DAP failed miserably in not defending itself.
But it was grossly wrong, unfair and unjust for Hadi to have made all these allegations without any evidence. These are unwarranted pen1puan that cast Hadi as a person who cannot be trusted to tell the truth.
When he is so closely associated with Islam – in fact they claim to defend Islam – he is expected to reflect the good values in Islam that emphasizes on truth, justice, fairness and tolerance.
When those representing Islam fail to reflect these much-heralded values, they bring shame to Islam by their unethical conduct and totally discredit themselves.
Johoreans must seriously consider their responsibility when casting their vote in 12-3-2022. Isn’t it their obligation to cast out those who lie and defame others? They must ensure that there is no place in Johor for those who lie and slander.
I hope that they remember the saying, “There are three things in the world that deserve no mercy – hypocrisy, fraud, and tyranny.” – FrederickWilliam Robertson
